Building Young Innovators Through Robotics & Creative Play

Introduce your child to a world where imagination meets engineering. Our Elementary Robotics Team teaches foundational STEM skills through hands-on building, interactive challenges, and early exposure to robotics technology—all in a fun, supportive learning environment.

/ Program Overview/

The Elementary Robotics Team focuses on developing technical creativity, foundational engineering skills, and early programming literacy.
Using kid-friendly robotics platforms such as LEGO® WeDo, LEGO® Spike Essential, and VEX IQ Beginner Kits, students learn how robots move, think, and solve problems.

1 . Robotics Foundations (Beginner Engineering)

Students explore:

  • How gears, levers, pulleys, and wheels work
  • How robots use motors to move
  • Simple mechanical design
  • How to strengthen or stabilize structures

Hands-on activities include:

  • Building simple cars, grabbers, arms, animals
  • Experimenting with movement using motors
  • Mini-build challenges every class

2.Introductory Coding (Block-Based Programming)

Using tools similar to Scratch or LEGO® apps:

  • Drag-and-drop coding
  • Sequences & loops
  • Basic logic and events
  • Coding robots to move, turn, and react

Coding missions include:

  • Robot Maze Escape
  • Treasure Hunt Coding Path
  • Dancing Robot

3.Creative Engineering Challenges

very few weeks, students complete fun STEM missions such as:

  • Bridge-building challenge
  • Tallest tower challenge
  • Robot speed contest
  • Obstacle course navigation

These missions develop problem-solving and team communication.

4.Early Robotics Competitions (FLL Explore style)

Students experience a simplified version of robotics competitions:

  • Team project presentations
  • Simple robot missions
  • Creative innovation challenges
  • Demonstration day for parents

Events & Workshops

Hands-on workshop where students:

  • Build mini robots
  • Learn about motors & sensors
  • Test and compete in fun races and obstacle courses

Design Thinking for Kids Workshop

Students learn how to:
  • Identify a problem
  • Brainstorm solutions
  • Build prototypes with LEGO® or VEX kits
  • Present ideas to the group

Mini Robotics Showcase

An end-of-term showcase where students demonstrate:

  • Robots they created
  • Coding skills
  • STEM projects

Benefits for Grades 1–5

  • Builds strong STEM foundation
  • Sparks curiosity and creativity
  • Develops fine motor skills
  • Teaches teamwork and confidence
  • Encourages perseverance through trial and error
  • Promotes early problem-solving ability
